In March of 2009 I attempted to upgrade from MicroSoft InterNet Explorer 7 to the more recent version of MicroSoft InterNet Explorer 8. Since I have a Dell computer, running MicroSoft XP, I thought it would be fairly easy to do.
I WAS WRONG!
After going through the usual steps of downloading, saving, and then installing the new software, I found that MicroSoft InterNet Explorer 8 would NOT let me do any updates under the MicroSoft update button. This was not good for obvious reasons. I tried to troubleshoot the problem, but to no avail. The last avenue of relief was to downgrade the upgrade to MicroSoft InterNet Explorer 7, and hope for the best.
SUCCESS!
Oh sure, it doesnt have the whistles and bells of the more recent version (InterNet Explorer 8), but it does allow me to run the automatic update function, without pulling my hair out (and my hair is grateful). So now life is back to normal, such as it is, and I am now happy once again! Amen.
