I am REALLY pissed (pardon my french) because one of my favorite shows was cancelled. I like to watch sci-fi on TV, and I watch
Star Trek : Enterprise. It has a good to very good base of viewers, and was really beginning to hit it's stride. It was cancelled once before, but it came back to life, after the network was told how many money the sponsers would loose. Fans of Star Trek, or for that matter any sci-fi show, often buy up hundreds or thousands of dollars of collectable stuff. Years later, however, that stuff become valuable. If a cast member dies, or goes to jail, then their contribution to sci-fi is increased.
When the
original Star Trek was cancelled, it was the decision of one network executive. It seems that his wife liked westerns (wholey crap!), and brow beat her husband into removing Star Trek from the TV line-up. Fans didn't find out about the actual reason for it's cancellation, but they did protest at the network's main buildings, and at Paramount Studios. Within one year the original Star Trek was back on the air, and finished with seven (7) years of great sci-fi. If enough of the Star Trek fans get angry enough, perhaps the network will reconsider, and return Star Trek : Enterprise back to the air waves, where is suppose to be!
