Outside I can hear the sounds of rug-rats (children), riding their large plastic bicycles and trikes, up and down the sidewalk. Since I live on a corner, I get to hear all of the noises of the cars, and children, and their plastic toys. It's at times like this that I almost wish that I had a pit bull dog, or a really BIG dog in the yard. That would make those little buggers think twice about playing near my location, while I'm trying to sleep in... (yawn)

After I woke up this morning, I knew that it was time to replace the old water heater in the basement. How did I know this? half way through this morning's shower, the freakin' water temperature became quite COLD. It was almost like getting an over-dose of caffeine. I had the shakes, but I knew I had to finish the shower, so I went into double-time mode, and rushed through the remainder of the shower. Today I'm going to find a Home Depot, or some type of hardware store, and have them deliver and install a new water heater for me TODAY! I don't want to get the cold shoulder tomorrow...

Why am still awake? Well, I cannot get to sleep like a normal person, and have a good night's rest, because of Sleep Apnea. It's a real bugger, and it's keeping me awake. Even if I do get to sleep, I'll be waking UP again, and again, and then I'll wake up mean and angry. It wouldn't be so bad if I were staying up by choice, and not because of a medical condition. OY!

I was watching an old episode of COPS, and some guy was caught with illegal drug residue in his car. The two police officers tested the residue, and it’s results were positive. Even with this evidence in front of them, they sill decided to let the person go, since he didn’t have any arrest record. HOW STUPID IS THAT? It seems to me that if someone has illegal drugs, or even illegal drug residue, that he or she should be arrested, and put into jail. Do you want to know why drugs are becoming so easy to get? Simple, the offenders are getting a slap on the wrist, and sent on their way. I suppose I shouldn’t be too surprised when this type of lax law enforcement behavior happens, but I am. Are you surpirsed?…

I took a nap today, after watching one of MTV's DeathMatch claymation episodes. In my dream, the cast of Friends were beating the crap out of some soap opera cast. The argument that started the fight goes something like this: Soap Opera = "You're a soap opera" and then the Friends replies = "No we're not. We're a comedy." Anyway, this lame excuse for a dream is what I had to endure during my nap. Too bad I didn't watch the Playboy channel instead of watching MTV...

Today is Blog Monday. I had little sleep on Sunday night, due to a bad back, a well used mattress, and also having Sleep Apnea. I did take a Melatonin sleeping pill, but that only lasted for about three (3) hours. I had to get up twice to walk around, so that my back could relax and become less of a pain in the…uh…back. I took an aspirin, and washed it down with some skim milk, and a piece of dry bread. After about fifteen minutes I went back to bed. I was doing better, but not by much. If I were employed right now, it would probably look as though I had been to a major party, and stayed the night. No such luck…

Yesterday I sat down at went on line to www.PriceGrabber.com to research prices on LEGAL SIZE color scanners for computers. I found out that there are almost two-dozen (24) different models to choose from several companies. A legal size scanner means 8.5” wide by 14” long (8.5”x14”) on the actual glass area. Some legal size scanners are larger, with sizes between 12”x17” and beyond! Commercial scanners are measured in YARDS, FEET, and then inches! After all, when an architect wants a copy of someone’s blueprints, the image scanner must be able accommodate the large over-sized paper. To increase the usefulness of a legal size scanner, some companies bundle Automatic Document Feeders (ADF), and Transparency Adapters with their scanners. Still others bundle additional Image-Editing Software, with to their own scanner software. The average resolution of a good legal size scanner is about 2400x4800-dpi (dots per inch) or higher. This means that photos appear to be more realistic, and more likely to resemble an actual photograph. The higher the numbers, the better the image. The price range of a legal size scanner ranges from about USD$200.oo, UP to what ever you can afford to pay, plus tax and shipping. The average price of a legal size scanner is about USD$500.oo plus tax and shipping. The average legal size scanner warranty is about one-year, however, most companies do offer warranty extensions, up to three years past the original warranty. You should give Price Grabber a try, and see if you can save some money.
